Juan Pablo is an Assistant Professor in International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and an affiliated Professor and Researcher at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI). Previously, he was a professor of International Relations at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). His areas of research and teaching include: foreign policy analysis, international security, transnational organized crime, EU foreign and security policy, Euro-Latin American relations, and human security in Latin America. He is also a member of the Observatori research group. Additionally, he has participated as a researcher in the Network for the Analysis of Transnational Youth Gangs in Central America, Mexico, and the United States, and at IBEI, he has been the academic coordinator of various seminars and courses for Latin American security forces.
