Eduard Soler analyzes the crisis in Iran in La Vanguardia

The Observatori’s Middle East expert Eduard Soler has analysed the role of the United States’ allies regarding Iran in La Vanguardia. The article focuses on Israel’s role in the current regional conflict, emphasising how Israel is the sole actor with enough influence in the White House to guide the Trump Administration.

Although the voices of the Gulf states and Turkey were heard during the negotiations, the US did not appear to have taken their interests and demands into account. In this dynamic, the European Union’s member states appear to be at the bottom of the pyramid, with the United States expecting nothing more from them than obedience.

Additionally, since the conflict started, the TV channels 324, 2cat and the RTVE’s 24 Horas have interviewed Eduard Soler. He was also invited by the radio stations Catalunya Ràdio and RAC1, to share his expertise on Russia and China’s interests in the Middle East. There, Soler argued that a direct involvement from these states in the conflict is unlikely at this stage.
