Observatori researchers Adrià Rivera (UoC), Diego Badell (UAB) and Martijn Vlaskamp (IBEI) presented papers at the International Studies Association (ISA) Conference in Chicago (March 2nd – 5th 2025). Adrià and Martijn Vlaskamp presented their co-authored paper “Power Play: The Political Dynamics of the Renewable Energy Transition in the MENA Region”, Diego presented “SRHR and the EU: Navigating Internal Contestation, Abdicating External Projection”, and Martijn also presented his paper titled “The EU as a global actor”.
Pol presented three papers: “Reconnecting the European Continent: Resilience and Geopolitics in the Western Balkans”; “Anticipatory Governance and the Future of the Past: A Rupture on Temporalities of Peacebuilding,” co-authored with Caitlin M. Ryan (University of Groningen); and “Polycrisis, Human Insecurity and the Future of Resilience.” Additionally, he participated in the panel “Best of Times, End of Times? Apocalyptic Imaginaries and the Future of Peace Studies.”
