Observatori researchers Johan L. Eliasson (East Stroudsburg University), Óscar Fernández (UAB/IBEI) and Giovanni Dini (UAB/IBEI) attended the ECPR-SGEU Conference at the Universidade Nova in Lisbon to present their chapters from the edited volume “EU Foreign Policy in a Fragmenting International Order”, due to be published by Palgrave Macmillan imminently. The panel, with the same title as the edited volume, was chaired by Observatori researcher Anna Herranz-Surrallés (Maastricht University), who also acted as discussant.
Johan presented his and Patricia García-Duran Huet’s (UB) co-authored chapter titled “EU trade policy in light of a fragmented liberal international order”, Óscar presented his and Robert Kissack’s (IBEI) piece “The EU’s role in global health: embracing governance complexity?” and Giovanni presented his contribution “The EU’s response to the fragmented emergence of Artificial Intelligence”. The collective volume is edited by Observatori researchers Oriol Costa (UAB/IBEI), Eduard Soler (UAB) and Martijn Vlaskamp (IBEI) and is the final output of the recently finished project “The Emergence of European Sovereignty in a World of Systemic Rivalry: Strategic Autonomy and Permissive Consensus (EUSOV)”.
