Observatori and EUSOC researcher Diego Badell (UAB) published an article in The Cambridge Review titled “Norm contestation in EU foreign policy: understanding the effects of opposition and dissidence”. Therein, Diego argues that despite challenges to the EU’s core values and norms, a strong sense of belonging has prevented erosion, yet the significant resources needed to maintain this stance reflect an inward-looking defence of existing frameworks at the expense of an outward-looking vision.
