On 10th April the Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) organized a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Multi-level engagement in the Mediterranean‘. Representatives of academia, institutions, enterprises, associations, foundations and think tanks based in Barcelona shared their views on the Euro-Mediterranean agenda with Chrisitan Danielsson, Director General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission.
At the institutional level it also counted with the participation of Felip Roca, Director of International Relations Department of the Barcelona City, Mireia Borrell, Director General for Foreign Relations of the Government of Catalonia, and, Eva Martínez Director General for the Maghreb, Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East of the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
Lastly, the Observatori of European Foreign Policy was represented by four of its members who shared their views on the Euro-Mediterranean agenda: on an academic level, Esther Barbé (UAB–IBEI) y Elisabeth Johansson-Nogués (IBEI); on an institutional level Raül Hernández (Policy Assistant del DG NEAR); and on the think tank level Eduard Soler (CIDOB).
