The Observatori researcher, Martijn Vlaskamp, was awarded a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral grant to carry on his work on EU conflict prevention and crisis management policies. In the past, Vlaskamp was the recipient of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship developed at Yale University (MacMillan Center) and IBEI.
The Catalan Agency for Management of University and Research Funds (AGAUR) provides 60 two-year Beatriu de Pinós fellowships for the incorporation of postdoctoral research staff into the Catalan science and technology system.
Dr.Vlaskamp’s project builds on his PhD thesis and subsequent Marie Skłodowska-Curie project in which he explored the EU policies with regard to natural resources that fund armed conflicts and their effectiveness. In his Beatriu de Pinós project, Vlaskamp will look at the different perceptions and ideas of policymakers, experts and the general public concerning different conflict prevention and crisis management policies.
