EU-NormCon researchers Esther Barbé and Juan Pablo Soriano participated in the ISA International Conference 2017 that took place in Hong Kong from the 15th to the 17th of June. The conference, under the title ‘The Pacific Century?’, was primarily centred on gathering researchers that to some extent were analysing international relations in Asia and the Pacific region.
Esther Barbé chaired the panel ‘Women, Gender, and Security” and presented the paper “Assessing the Relevance of Practices Contestation in the United Nations Security Council Open Debates on Women, Peace and Security: European Narrative Meets Asian Approaches”. Juan Pablo Soriano, on his hand, presented the paper ‘The Security-Development Nexus in Asia-Pacific and Latin America through the Eyes of the European Union’.
