Patricia García-Duran (Universitat de Barcelona) and Montserrat Millet (Universitat de Barcelona) have published a monograph about European Union trade titled ‘Different Glances at EU Trade Policy’. García-Duran and Millet, researchers from the EU-IANUS project, have coordinated the document published by the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB).
This monograph analyses and discusses the EU strategy ‘Trade for All’, launched on October 2015 by the European Union Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström. The book is structured around different perspectives based on key current debates on international trade. The first part corresponds to the multilateralism versus bilateralism debate, the second to the debate about the limits of trade liberalisation and the last focuses on the EU’s relations with developing and emerging economies.
Patricia García-Duran has also written one of the chapters under the title ‘The bilateralism/multilateralism debate and EU trade policy’. The book also counts with the collaboration of several specialists in European Trade, such as Alejandro Jara (Former Deputy Director General WTO), Leif Johan Eliasson (Professor at East Stroudsburg University), Ricard Bellera i Kirchhoff (International, Migration and Cooperation Secretary, CCOO de Catalunya) or Jan Orbie and Deborah Martens (Centre for EU Studies at Ghent University).
